The Kansas Veterans Coalition is established for the purpose of supporting special projects of Veterans Service Organizations within the State of Kansas; ensuring that Kansas veterans are held in esteemed honor and properly memorialized for their service and sacrifice; preserving and protecting veterans’ memorials, monuments, grave sites, and markers; promoting recognition and public understanding of military service; furthering educational opportunities for Kansas veterans and their families; and advocating for Kansas veterans while educating the public on issues impacting veterans and their families.
In partnership with the Military Order of the Purple Heart – Department of Kansas and the National Purple Heart Legacy and Trail Coordinator, the Kansas Veterans Coalition will additionally leverage relationships within local communities, civic organizations, and local Veterans Service Organizations to further the memorialization of Purple Heart medal recipients by providing administrative and financial support for the maintenance, preservation, and expansion of the Purple Heart Trail, as well as related legacy and remembrance initiatives.
While we work closely with many different organizations and entities, we are not directly affiliated with nor governed by the federal government, the military, or any other organization.
